Friday, September 18
Rotary Club of Weston Food & Wine Festival
6 to 10 p.m. | Bonaventure Town Center Club, 16690 Saddle Club Road, Weston
The Rotary Club of Weston holds its sixth annual Food & Wine Festival with more than 25 chefs and vintners pouring and plating. Around 500 local guests are expected. Money raised goes to NAMI Broward County, Guardian ad Litem Broward County, The Rotary Foundation and other approved charities.
Saturday, September 19
Tree Care Workshop
8 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Cooper City Community Center, 9000 SW 50th Place, Cooper City
A full day city workshop for anyone who wants to plant a tree and keep it alive. You will learn which trees do well in our soil and weather, and how to care for the ones already in your yard.
Touch-a-Truck Vehicle Expo
10 a.m. to noon | The Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way, Pembroke Pines | Free
Kids climb into real fire trucks, garbage trucks and heavy machines, and meet the crews who drive them. The first few hundred kids get a free T-shirt, a Hot Wheels car or a hard hat. Call 954-392-2116 for details.
Celebrate Davie
4 to 8 p.m. | Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, 4201 SW 65th Way, Davie | Free
A free fall afternoon with inflatable rides, pony rides, a petting farm and live music. The night ends with a concert by Southern Stampede. Food and drinks are sold on site, and outside food and drink are not allowed.
Kids Sunset Safari
7:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Flamingo Gardens, 3750 South Flamingo Road, Davie
Kids in grades K-5 $35 ($30 members), adults $18 ($15 members)
After dark, kids move from station to station meeting owls, snakes, alligators and other animals. Each group gets a passport to stamp along the way.
Sunday, September 20
Sunday is quiet this week. It is a good morning for a walk at Weston Regional Park or Tequesta Trace Park, or a slow lap around Town Center.
