Making Your Vote Count in Weston This November

The 2026 midterm elections bring congressional, state, and local races to the ballot, and Weston residents have several opportunities to make their voices heard as Election Day arrives in November.

The first step is registration. Florida sets a registration deadline ahead of each election, and anyone who has recently moved within the county or changed their legal name should verify their voter file is current and accurate. New residents who have not yet registered in Florida will need to complete that process before the deadline as well. The window to register to vote in the general election is October 5th. Once registered, Broward County offers three ways to cast a ballot:

• Early voting takes place at designated sites across the county in the weeks leading up to Election Day — a convenient option for residents with busy schedules who want to avoid lines on Election Day itself.

Early voting period: October 19th to November 1st from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

• Vote-by-mail allows residents to request a ballot, complete it at home on their own timeline, and return it by mail or in person at a designated drop location.

The window to request that a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed is no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 22nd. The window for a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned and received by the Supervisor of Elections Office is no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

• Traditional in-person voting on Election Day remains available for those who prefer it.
