September 11th Remembrance Ceremony

Friday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m.
Sunrise Civic Center Theatre, 10610 W. Oakland Park Blvd.
The City of Sunrise honors the victims, heroes and survivors of 9/11 on the 25th anniversary. The morning includes speakers, music, a memorial display and the presentation of colors. Open to everyone.

35th Annual Kids Fishing Derby

Saturday, September 12, 8 to 10:30 a.m.
Welleby Park, 11100 NW 44th St., Sunrise
Bring a pole and some bait and let the kids try for the biggest catch. Prizes go to three age groups, and every skill level is welcome. Free.

Restorative Sound Healing

Saturday, September 12, 9 to 10:15 a.m.
A private garden in Weston
An hour of gentle restorative yoga, guided meditation and sound healing, held outdoors under the trees. Only 10 spots, so reserve ahead and bring water.

Village Art Plaza Farmers Market

Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Village Art Plaza, 2260 NW 68th Ave., Sunrise
Fresh produce, handmade crafts and small businesses from around Broward. It sets up outdoors next to City Park, so there is room for the kids to run once the shopping is done. Free.
