Weston takes its parks seriously. The City maintains 15 park and recreation facilities with more than 245 acres of park land, from quiet neighborhood playgrounds to big athletic complexes. Every park listed here is maintained by the City of Weston, and regular daytime use is free. Here is a local’s guide to which park fits which kind of day.
For a classic playground day
Gator Run Park (1101 Park Blvd.) and Country Isles Park (2260 Country Isles Rd.) both have playgrounds with shade covers, a big deal in South Florida summers. Gator Run adds restrooms, lighted walkways, and shelters with seating. Country Isles has an open play area for burning off extra energy.
Bonaventure Park (520 Racquet Club Rd.) rounds out the playground picks with a half-court basketball hoop, fitness stations, and a lighted walkway for evening strolls.
For water views and quiet moments
Peace Mound Park (1300 Three Village Rd.) is a favorite for a reason: a fishing dock, water views, a shaded playground, and a stop on the Weston History Walk. Eagle Point Park (18691 North Lake Blvd.) pairs water views with sand volleyball, beach tennis, and ball fields.
Town Center Park (1900 Bell Tower Lane) sits next to the shops and restaurants of Weston Town Center, with an outdoor amphitheater and water views. It’s the easy pick before or after dinner out.
For game day
Weston Regional Park (20200 Saddle Club Rd.) is the big one: baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, roller hockey rinks, artificial turf rinks, pickleball, sand volleyball, beach tennis, an event stage, and a shaded playground. Note that dogs are not permitted here.
Tequesta Trace Park (600 Indian Trace) has an athletic field and track with stadium seating, turf fields, ball fields, and a skate park. Vista Park (18800 Vista Park Blvd.) hosts softball, baseball, and soccer, and games there are broadcast live through the MuscoVision system, so grandparents out of town never miss a play.
Good to know: the City runs a ThorGuard lightning prediction system at Tequesta Trace, Vista, and Regional parks. One long horn blast means seek shelter; three short blasts mean all clear.
For tennis, pickleball, and racquet sports
The Weston Racquet Club (16451 Racquet Club Rd., 954-389-8666) offers lighted tennis courts, pickleball, padel, and a pro shop. Indian Trace Park (17998 Saddle Club Rd.) has free public pickleball, basketball, and even a Little Free Library.
Bring the dog (or don’t)
Most Weston parks welcome dogs on a leash up to 6 feet. The exceptions: Regional Park, Vista Park, Town Center Park, the Racquet Club, and the YMCA Family Center do not permit dogs. Check posted signs when you arrive.
