The Rotary Club of Weston proudly hosted its 39th annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast at The Club at Weston Hills on May 7, 2026, recognizing exceptional students from across the community for their academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.
The annual event brought together students, families, educators, community leaders, sponsors, and Rotarians to celebrate the impact of education and service. This year’s program awarded scholarships to graduating seniors attending universities and colleges throughout the country, including the University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida International University, Broward College, Georgia Tech, Yale University, Duke University, Rice University, and many more.
The breakfast was led by Rotary Club of Weston President Kurt Asesor and included remarks from Past President Jacqueline Gillman, presenting sponsor Dr. Mohsin Jaffer, Golf Co-Chairs Cristiano Nicolucci and Andy Suarez, and Golf Classic Title Sponsor Michael Freedland of FHV Legal.
Scholarship presentations were conducted by Scholarship Co-Chairs Steve Goldstein and Deborah O’Connor Richman along with the Scholarship Committee. The event also featured remarks from school leaders including Mellesia Nelson of Sagemont Preparatory School, Michelle Padura of Western High School, and Jorge Souza of Cypress Bay High School.
The Rotary Club of Weston Scholarship Program continues to reflect Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self” by investing directly into the future leaders of the community. Scholarships are made possible through the generosity of sponsors, donors, community partners, and Rotary fundraising efforts including the club’s annual Golf Classic and Drawdown events.
The Rotary Club of Weston extends its congratulations to all scholarship recipients and wishes them continued success in their academic and leadership journeys.
